what the archive is about

The Living Archive explores the potential of (post)industrial heritage to transform production in our cities. We collect stories with participatory heritage methods. The nodes for the local collection efforts are Fab City Hubs (FCH). The collection has been carefully assembled by FCH teams who have been learning about, co-creating and applying participatory heritage-making approaches, emotion networking methodology, oral history principles and creative perspective-taking.

Sharing spaces

Belén Vassallo is the founder of Vassa jewels. Through this project she offers handmade jewelry, with a sensitive and timeless design, precious in terms of emotional value and aesthetically beautiful. All the pieces are handmade in her workshop in Barcelona respecting a local and sustainable production. Each piece has been designed and crafted in a unique and unrepeatable way.

Born in Argentina, in a family with many artistic interests, Belén observed with special admiration the artisan work, and at an early age she began to learn the technique and skills of a jeweler. Years later, she continued her jewelry studies in Barcelona, where she keeps her training and from where she works in a multidisciplinary space in the beautiful neighborhood of Poblenou. According to Belén: "In Poblenou there are many "silent" co-workings and there is a lack of open spaces for creation and production. La Clandestina Poblenou is an example of how different people can share a creative and flexible space that encourages local production."
