My ceramics studio at the ZIC is a place where I can work, create, produce and research.
When I walk through the wood workshop to get to my studio, there's construction going on, we talk about wood and clay, there's already an exchange, a community of spirit, a recognition of our different areas of expertise, a sharing of perspectives that has already led to solutions, like clever techniques for plaster molds.
Some of my creations, like the two-tone bowls, are the fruit of an encounter that took place here at ZIC, with architects who had commissioned me to research the hemispherical shape.
The circular economy is at the very heart of ceramics: clay is constantly being recycled. What drives me is the pleasure of making, of sharing, of being in the material.
what the archive is about
The Living Archive explores the potential of (post)industrial heritage to transform production in our cities. We collect stories with participatory heritage methods. The nodes for the local collection efforts are Fab City Hubs (FCH). The collection has been carefully assembled by FCH teams who have been learning about, co-creating and applying participatory heritage-making approaches, emotion networking methodology, oral history principles and creative perspective-taking.
